BUTTER Chicken
Here’s a delicious Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) recipe for you! 🍛🔥
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
- 500g boneless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
For the Gravy:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 large tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- ½ cup fresh cream
- ¼ cup cashew paste (soaked & blended cashews)
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander for garnish
- ¼ cup water (adjust as needed)
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Chicken:
- Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl.
- Add chicken, coat well, and let it marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
2. Cook the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a pan, grill or sauté the chicken until golden brown. (Don’t overcook, as it will simmer later in the gravy.)
- Set aside.
3. Prepare the Gravy:
- In the same pan, melt butter. Add onions and sauté until golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in tomato puree, cook until oil separates.
- Add chili, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and garam masala powders. Stir well.
- Add cashew paste, mix, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in fresh cream and a little water, mix to get a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Add cooked chicken, mix well, and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Final Touches:
- Stir in honey/sugar (if using) for a balanced taste.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and a drizzle of cream.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice. Enjoy! 😋🔥
